Salam 'Aloha mai'

I'm Heidi, an Egyptian vocalist, voice artist, and performer. My voice has always lived between worlds.

I trained in Arabic Music (B.A.) and Musical Theatre, and I carry both into everything I do, the maqam and the Meisner, the text and the breath underneath it. Singing is at the centre of my work, but the performing arts don't let you stay in one lane for long. I move into physical and musical theatre when the story asks for it; I dance when the body needs to speak; and I write and compose when the voice needs its own words to carry.

You might know me from Anne Nikitin's score for Amazon's Little Birds, or from the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich, or from a concert at the Cairo Opera House. I've toured across Europe, led workshops with refugees and people with disabilities, and recorded in Arabic, English, Turkish, Coptic, Latin, Demotic, and Hieratic, not as a curiosity, but because some stories need sounds that carry centuries in them. With a strong phonetic ear, I can learn and perform in additional languages on request, including Persian and Greek.

I work across screen and stage, soundtrack vocals, voiceover, live performance, and workshop facilitation. I also love the side of this work that most artists quietly dread: the production process, the coordination, the details that make a project actually happen. Pre- and post-production, artistic project management, making sure the vision lands the way it was meant to, I find genuine satisfaction in that.

And because the performing life teaches you things that go far beyond the stage, I also share what I've learned along the way -- the rituals, the discipline, the mental and emotional texture of an artistic life. Not as advice, just as someone who has been in the rehearsal room long enough to have something worth saying.

When I'm not performing, you'll probably find me savouring slow mornings with coffee, chocolate, and cat cuddles; plotting trips (preferably not in 30°C sunshine); and falling down delightful rabbit holes-films, psychology, world cultures, and animal videos. I chase small joys: chocolate, peace, and making a difference, one creative act (or rescued animal 🐾) at a time.
